who invented make-up?

An interesting question, who invented make-up, came in my mind the other day and I decided to look it up. Some guy named Max Faktor, from a town named Lodz in Poland, created the first version of rouges and creams in the 1870s. I just thought that would be an interesting history lesson since millions of people are using make-up today. I like make-up as an art form, but not really as an everyday cover up. I think using a little is find, but some women get carried away. Be yourself, naturally you. Some women and young girls try to look like other people, that is why cosmetic surgery is becoming so popular.

Max Factor invented makeup, as we know it today. However, the egyptians invented it in their time by using petroleum jelly, kohl, and other hazardous chemicals/materials.
