More Ghetto PROM Outfits for 2008 high school proms. Why do people not consult a fashion designer before creating these ghetto outfits? I know they just want to look glamorous, like the celebrities do on the red carpet, but they are missing one thing, celebrities get help from some of the top fashion stylist. Even sometimes they hit and miss, but most of the time they are on point.
But what is this! The colors are all wrong and the fabric does not even drape right for the dresses. They look like they went to the costume section to pick their fabrics. People, this is ghetto! If you want help in the style department get a professional. Contrary to what entertainers and celebrities think, everyone is not a fashion designer.
Come on black parents, what the hell are we teaching our children about fashion. These outfits are absolutely tacky, too tight or to darn loose and the color hues look like something from a circus. These ensembles and I use the word loosely are just darn ugly, and I bet on top of that they actually paid a nice bit of money for them. They definately didn’t get the most for their dollars!
that black and white checkered one is similar to an outfit beyonce wore in her bday alblum/promo pics. Nobody dissed Beyonce, think about, these girls are emulating what they see on t.v.

I don’t know where some of you get your sense of style from, but that is TACKY!!! Ashley, sweet heart you are absolutely childish and the non- sense you wrote is ridiculous. Now for my comments on the dresses: They’re extremely unique, but my opinion is that they weren’t appropriate for prom. Than again everyone is different and everyone has different standards.

OK, saw your site linked over on that Stuff Ghetto People Like blog, so I figured I’d come over here to check what the missing photos were.
Quite honestly? I don’t see what’s so “ghetto” about the majority of the fits. In the case of the dudes, I doubt they were even out to be taken seriously, as their kits generally look like costume (e.g. the one cat at the end that uncannily resembles a Rush Hour Chris Tucker lookalike). Was this even a prom? Looks more like a theme formal.
A few of the girls may be a bit young for the dresses they were in (I can’t believe I’m critiquing a girl’s dress, BTW) but they were original to say the least.
Dude in that weird egg suit, however, was doing the most.
Overall though, these fits were pretty interesting, and not so worthy of such a harsh label as “ghetto,” which prompts these hyena commentators to go in as rabidly as they possibly could, and in racial ways at that.
I think the distinction lies in their ages and their shapes. If you are as old as Beyoncee and you have her body then by all means, wear the outfit. If you are flabby and 14 then your mom needs to step in and slap the hell out of you for trying to go out in public looking like that. Most of these dresses look like they were sewn by blind monkeys. I know money is tight but used is better than ugly.

I think that the prom outfits were extremely creative and fabulous. Who wants to do the same routine every year for prom each class should be different. The dresses arent made for easy access there made to represent their style, just because they decide to be different dosent make them sluts or any other negative name you may choose to call us as a people. Black is beautiful, we as a people are creative and always thinking outside the box. Whose to say what is fashion and whats not, if fashion had to be okeyed in order for you to wear it then alot of people would be out of jobs(critics) and people would eventually get tired of the same old thing and nobody wants to wear a paper bag as the latest fashion every fall. So, with that said, to my beautiful creative african americans and every other individual of a different race who is being single out as being ghetto i praise your individuality and yes whoever has something to say is a hater that lets you know they have no life and like to talk about yours for to make theres look better. Beauty isnt made its created….It doesnt matter whether you are black, light skinned, or white express yourself and let everyone else stay stuck on plastic trying to be someone there not.
