The holiday season is a great time to play with your hair and test drive some new styles. Whether you want to let it hang loose and wavy or put it up in a sophisticated updo, there are lots of ways to look your best without breaking the bank. If you’re gearing up for a string of parties and don’t want to show up with the same tired do, try some of these easy holiday looks from your favourite celebs.
If you have longer hair, a fishtail braid is easy to do. Even with braids or extensions, this look takes up no time, will keep for a couple of days and is elegant enough for the office and casual for the after-party. Dress it up by braiding in a ribbon or pin in a few sparkly beads in the season’s colours.
For a soft romantic look, copy Freida Pinto’s French braid. Part the hair on the side and braid both sides past both ears. Wrap both ends into a big twist and bun it up with some pins. Finish this elegant look with some soft makeup or striking earrings.
If you’re in a dramatic mood, Kate Bosworth’s radiant look is easily accomplished. Part the hair on one side and curl it with a medium barrel curling iron. Apply some holding gel or spray near the part and smooth out the curls into waves. This look is ideal for short to medium length hair.

To achieve Zoe Saldana’s casual version, curl your ends first with a wide barrel curling iron. Gather the hair into a low ponytail, leaving out small sections along the front part.
