African American Children Hairstyles

Cute African American Children Hairstyles from ponytails to braids. These are just a few ideas of African American hairstyles for children. You can style your little girl’s hair with bright bows and headbands with braids and textured hair. A big tip to styling an African American little girl’s hair, do not put a perm in her hair before she has reached preteen age. Embrace the beauty of your child’s natural hair texture. Black hair is beautiful, thick, tightly coiled and all.

I see your comment on not perming the African American girls hair until pre teen years. What if that was done at age 3? What will it do to her hair? Are there steps I need to take? thanks.

PLEASE i repeat PLEASE DO NOT PERM YOUR 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTERS HAIR. her follicles r still maturing at that age and you can damage her growth for LIFE. and there is NO SUCH THING as a kiddie perm. they’re just milder forms of a regular relaxer…..if your daughter’s hair is too tangled to comb through, moisture is the key. sometimes for my natural clients i comb through the hair with a mixture of warm water and conditioner before i wash it to act as a de-tangler. when hair is nourished and hydrated, it has elasticity. when its dry and brittle, it breaks easily.

    hope this helps ;)
